Inject Creativity Live ep. 58 - Wednesday 9th March 2022

AEL Juliette Bentley from Brisbane, Queensland

Juliette shared with us her own personal experiences with the recent rain and flooding event across the east coast of Australia.

Our thoughts are with her and others impacted by this weather event, and wish everyone all the best with their cleanup - take care of yourselves, and each other <3

NZ Adobe Education Leader Emma Wise

KeriKeri High School - http://www.kerikerihigh.ac.nz/

Movement with images: creating Stop-motion animations in Photoshop

Emma's mission is to bring students into the creative daylight who might not have had previous opportunities to express their creativity using digital tools.

Use the tools in Photoshop to get the software to do the 'heavy lifting' and align the source images (the pictures the student has taken above).

Using layer masks to create stop motion

Emma then took us through how to create animations using images that have had a 'mask' applied in Photoshop, converting images to 'Smart Objects', and using a timeline to generate simple animations for those objects.

This can include layer masks to create a 'blinking effect' on the eye, using timelines within photoshop, as seen in the image above.

Tip: Use the timestamps on my images to find Emma's presentation so you can follow along with her as she demonstrates to you!

Emma also demonstrated 'creative scribbling, where the timeline can be used to digitally draw effects into their project.

See her finished project render at timestamp 42:53 in our broadcast.

Educational Thought Leader and AEL Brett Salakas from NSW

Brett joined us tonight to demonstrate Synthesia at https://www.synthesia.io/

For learners that may be incredibly camera shy, or who may have English as a second language but have great written comprehension and writing skills, they can use this to build a 'presenter' for their project or assignment.
