TACTICAL MEDICAL RESPONDER A Tactical Medicine Course

Tactical Medical Responder?

The Tactical Medical Responder (TMR) teaches responders and other pre-hospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a tactical context. It is designed to decrease preventable deaths in a tactical situation. The course presents the three phases of tactical care:

  1. Direct Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions
  2. Indirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed
  3. Evacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated

Technical information.

3 Days of training :

  • DAY 01- Start: 08:30 / End 18:00
  • DAY 02 - Start: 08:30 / End 18:00
  • DAY 03 - Start: 08:30/ End of the course 16:00 (including Certificate)
Important remark - You will receive a fully equipped IFAK (individual first aid kit) which is included in the price.

The Course Structure.

The course structure is primarily based on providing the student with the fundamental skills required to manage a casualty in an austere/challenging environment. During the 3 days the students will learn the following topics:

  • Tactical movement within a CQB environment
  • Scene Safety and mechanism of injury
  • Airway Management
  • Cardio-Pulmonary resuscitation
  • Defibrillation and administration of oxygen
  • Breathing assessment and support
  • Bleeding and Haemorrhage control
  • Management of burns
  • Extremity Trauma management
  • Basic Head Injury management
  • Medical emergencies
This TMRcourse course meets the guidelines established by the Committee on TECC and the updated National Tactical Emergency Medical Support Competency Domains. Paramed CZ is a CoTECC recognized Tactical Casualty Care training provider.

The course structure is primarily designed to provide the student with the fundamental skills, required to manage a casualty in a combat environment. You must complete both theory and practical training to satisfy the requirements of this course.

This course will give the participant the essential and underpinning knowledge and skills, with an emphasis of understanding 'why' as well as 'how' - so that if and when a hostile incident occurs, you are able to adapt and manage the situation.

INSTRUCTOR BIO.

Tim Cranton is the owner and training director of Paramed CZ who are licensed providers of Iqarus (Hereford) Ltd First Person on Scene and Medicine in Remote Area courses. These courses are certified and endorsed by the appropriate Educational and Medical authorities. Paramed CZ has an impressive client portfolio including NATO SOCOM and United States Army Europe, Office of the Command Surgeon where he is the Course Director for the International Combat Lifesaver course. Tim is a Chief Instructor and Trainer of Trainers. He teaches basic and advanced medical techniques and practice to First Responders and all levels of medical professional in Pre-Hospital and Remote Area care. His specialty is remote and austere environment care where patients who are ill or injured require extensive levels of care with often prolonged evacuation times. Today, as well as teaching new NATO Special Operations Medics and NATO European partners in Combat Lifesaver skills he maintains his skills and practice by working as an Emergency and Remote Care Practitioner. Tim is also an Advisory Board Member to the Institute of Remote Health Care.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

  • Classroom related equipment such as pens and paper to take note. there will be alot of information.
  • Functional clothing
  • Knee protection & eye protection are recommended
  • Tactical kits such as vest and helmet are recommended - but not a must!

Training gun for the purpose of dry fire/force on force drills is recommended. Airsoft handgun or rifle will do it. We can rent you this equipment. please inquire upon registration.
