School of the Arts former, current, and new staff were all honored at the RCCSD Employee Recognition Banquet:

  • Terri Pruitt: District Teacher of the Year and State Teacher of the Year Finalists
  • Eric Pizzini: District Behavior Health Person of the Year
  • Larisa Lenoff: Mote Elementary School Teacher of the Year

Visual Arts Program

The Visual Arts Department hosted the New Castle County installation of the Delaware Division of Arts Award Winners XXII exhibition.
  • Maia Palmer is the exhibiting Fellow, and also serves as co-curator with Lindsey Ostafy.

Piano and Strings Department

It was an amazing display of Cab Calloway School of the Arts talent throughout this week. Our student performances from some of our piano majors, coached by Claudio Espejo Araneda during the Delaware Division of Arts Winner XII Exhibit.

May Ellen Clark
  • Congratulations to May Ellen Clark for being recognized as one of five Delaware junior and senior high school students who have been selected as Bank of America Student Leaders.
  • MayEllen Clark, a senior at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, selected for creating a club at her school honoring her late mother that assists peers dealing with hardships and aiding the mental and physical distress from loss.
Whitetail UNLIMITED Delaware Chapter ScholArship
  • This scholarship opportunity is for Seniors pursuing majors in Wildlife and Forestry Conservation, Fish and Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biology, and Wildlife Ecology and Management

NHS student supporting the Cab Calloway School Fund Donor Event.
Homecoming
  • The Cab Calloway High School will celebrate Homecoming the week of October 10-13, 2022.
  • There will be dress up theme days and hall decorating. The week will culminate on October 13th when our whole school community will gather in the theater to celebrate Cab Calloway being named National Blue Ribbon School.
  • Following the celebration, high school students will go to the gym for the high school pep rally and middle school will stay in the theater for a special program on the legacy of Cab Calloway and the impact that our alumni are having on the arts world.
  • High school students will return to Cab the evening of October 13th for a dance from 7:00-10:00 PM.

Bullying and Harassment
  • October into November tends to be a time of the year when students relationships are challenged or strained.
  • Our Middle and High School students will continue to receive Social Emotional Learning lessons throughout the school year on topics related to appropriate social interactions with peers and others.
  • It is still important to understand our bullying and harassment policy.

The School Counseling Department post important information regarding volunteering, scholarships, and College Visits. See the below link for information sent in September.
