Course Selection Process:
The course selection process for the 2022-2023 school year is underway. We want to ensure parents are provided the same information our students receive in class and on Schoology.

Black History Month: BSU Performance:
- Our BSU is looking forward to celebrating black culture through the arts on February 25th at 6:00 PM
- There will be a dress rehearsal on February 25th in the morning, along with a live stream performance
- Tickets will go on sale this afternoon at 3:00 PM.
- There are no outside visitors for the school day performances.
- Live Stream Information for all performances will be shared on social media. Links will be sent through School Messenger.

Cab Support Team: Community Resources
- The Cab Support Team, which is comprised of admin and support staff including school counselors, nurse, interventionist, special education coordinator, and the school psychologist, is working to increase building wide supports for our school community.
- The team’s goal is supporting social and emotional wellness while building resiliency for students as they transition forward from years of online learning.
- These supports include a mindfulness Schoology page, mindfulness lessons by counselors, and various school clubs targeting student mental health.
- The group is partnering with various outside agencies and supports to bring regular support internally (such as regular therapy dog visits in the building – stay tuned for details!) as well as future field trips and speakers to provide instruction and resources to both students and families related to lowering mental health stigma, building resiliency, and improving social/emotional functioning.

Parking Passes and Driving Privileges:
- It has been brought to the administrations attention that car riders have been parking in the top lot without parking passes.
- Any car without a parking pass will be endanger of being towed.
- These spots are assigned to students earlier this year who paid for their parking pass.
- If your student are driving a different vehicle, please have your student share with the front office.
- New Castle Police will be issuing tickets for students who park illegally on N. DuPont Rd.
School Wide Expectation Assemblies
There was a 6-8th Grade Assembly this past Thursday in review of the following community expectations. Parents, we are enforcing the code of conduct to address the following areas:
- Use of Electronic Devices
- Lateness/Cutting Class
- Review of Bullying Policy
- Unexcused Tardies to School
- Disruption of the Educational Process
- Review of Cab Calloway School of the Arts Legacy.
- The above topics were addressed but each student is responsible to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct.
2021-22 District Calendar Corrected
The district's 2021-22 calendar has been corrected to the reflect Juneteenth, a state holiday on June 20, 2022 in addition to the May 13 in service day for the Red Clay Early Years Program.
Cab Calloway Student Ambassador’s:
- Calling all rising 2022-23 Juniors, and Seniors.
- Do you have a passion to work with Elementary School students?
- Would like to share your Cab journey to inspire others to pursue their passion in arts?
- We are planning our 2022-23 Cab Calloway School of the Arts community outreach and looking for passionate students who want to visit elementary schools throughout the year to empower, inspire, and support rising artist in their pursuit to become a member of Cab Calloway.

Community Reminders:
- All students must have a hall pass to go to any assigned area.
- After School: Students who are assigned to after-school activities must report to their assigned area by 2:45 PM. After school teachers send a roster to the Dean by the end of the week.
- Any student found on campus without an assigned location will be subject to consequences outlined in the Code of Conduct.
- Parents, we do not provide after-care here in the school. Students being picked up after school must be picked up by 3:00 PM.
- Students being picked up from after school activities must be picked up by 4:30 PM or immediately after the end of the activity.
- No student is permitted to open the door for any student once the doors are closed. Students found opening doors for other students will be subject to consequences.
NHS Resale Shop!
- The National Honors Society is hosting a resale shop
- Tuesday, February 22nd and ending Friday, March 4th.
- NHS is selling a wide variety of clothing, jewelry, shoes, books, and more! All items are $1.00 except Hot Items, which are $2.00. Fill out the google forms on the website after an item is released to place an order for an item. The release schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, Feb. 22nd at 7 AM: Groups A-G and all Books
- Wednesday, Feb. 23rd at 7 AM: Groups H-N
- Thursday, Feb. 24th at 7 AM: Groups O-U
- Friday, Feb. 25th at 7 AM: Groups V-BB and All Hot Items
