Parents’ Meetings
Thank you to Y7 and 8 parents for coming to meet with your children’s teachers last week. Not only are these occasions a chance to catch up with progress, attainment and wellbeing, but they also demonstrate to the students that we are all working together to support them.
Appointments can now be made to attend Ey 2 to Y6 Parent/Teacher meetings. These will be taking place on Monday April 3rd and Tuesday April 4th. If you have not had details of the booking system please contact kate.p@huahinschool.com or cheng.b@huahinschool.com
Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal - Fundraising event - Friday March 31st
Year 7 are inviting all students to dress in the colours red, black, green or white in support of the Thailand Unicef Earthquake Appeal on Friday March 31st https://unicef.or.th/en/donate/campaigns/syria-emergency They ask that students pay a donation of 50thb, which will be collected by class/form teachers in the morning.
Also to support the earthquake relief, Year 7 students will be selling snacks and drinks throughout the day, on March 31st. The refreshments have been created by the students themselves and will be for sale for 50 to 100thb.

Learning Beyond the classroom
Students have again been out and about in the community again this week. Y7 visited the OTOP Tourism Community, Baan Ruam Thai’ and learnt how locally produced products are vital to local communities. The students took part in workshops creating tie-dye designs, bee keeping, candlemaking and creating products such as body scrubs, soaps, and paper from pineapples.
All their learning will contribute to the final stages of the project to make their own snack product.
Year 8 students were also out and about last week and spent a wonderful day at Phraya Nakhon Cave. Inspired students investigated the physical geography of the site and spent time sketching a variety of different rock formations and structures. The students were a credit throughout and worked together to overcome the challenges of the climb. Students will continue to investigate their findings in both their Humanities and Art lessons this week.

ขอขอบคุณผู้ปกครองนักเรียนชั้น Y7 และ Y8 ที่เข้าร่วมประชุมกับครูเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา ไม่ใช่แค่เพียงเป็นโอกาสที่ได้รับทราบถึงพัฒนาการ ความสำเร็จ และความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีเท่านั้น แต่ยังได้แสดงให้นักเรียนเห็นว่า พวกเราทำงานร่วมกันเพื่อสนับสนุนพวกเขา

เหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวในซีเรีย - กิจกรรมระดมทุน - วันศุกร์ที่ 31 มี.ค.
นักเรียนชั้น Y7 ขอเรียนเชิญนักเรียนทุกคนแต่งกายด้วยเครื่องแต่งกายสีแดง ดำ เขียว หรือขาว เพื่อช่วยสนับสนุนองค์การยูนิเซฟจากเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหว ในวันศุกร์ที่ 31 มีนาคมนี้ https://unicef.or.th/en/donate/campaigns/syria-emergency โดยนักเรียนสามารถบริจาคเงิน 50 บาท ซึ่งจะรวบรวมโดยครูประจำชั้นในตอนเช้า เพื่อช่วยบรรเทาและสนับสนุนเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหว นักเรียนชั้น Y7 จะจัดจำหน่ายขนมและเครื่องดื่มตลอดทั้งวันในวันที่ 31 มีนาคม 2566 ซึ่งเครื่องดื่มนี้ถูกคิดค้นโดยนักเรียน และจะจัดจำหน่ายในราคา 50 บาท ถึง 100 บาท

โรงเรียนมีความภูมิใจอย่างมากที่จะนำเสนอวีดิโออย่างเป็นทางการจาก Fobisia Choral Festival โดย กลุ่มนักร้องเพลงประสานเสียงระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาของโรงเรียนนานาชาติหัวหิน พวกเขามีความสุขจริงๆ ที่ได้รับฟัง

การเรียนรู้นอกห้องเรียน
นักเรียนได้ไปทัศนศึกษาในชุมชนอีกครั้งสัปดาห์นี้ โดยนักเรียนชั้น Y7 ได้ไปทัศนศึกษาที่ OTOP นวัตวิถีบ้านรวมไทย และได้ศึกษาการทำสินค้าท้องถิ่นในชุมชน นักเรียนร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเวิร์คชอป เพื่อออกแบบผ้ามัดย้อม การเลี้ยงผึ้ง การทำเทียนหอม และผลิตสินค้าท้องถิ่น เช่น สครับขัดผิว สบู่ และกระดาษทำจากสับปะรด
ทุกการเรียนรู้จะดำเนินอย่างต่อเนื่องในขั้นตอนสุดท้ายของโครงการ เพื่อทำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ขนมของพวกเขาสำเร็จ
นักเรียนชั้น Y8 ก็ได้ไปทัศนศึกษาเช่นกันเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา และใช้เวลาอันมีค่าอยู่ที่ถ้ำพระยานคร นักเรียนได้รับแรงบันดาลใจในการสำรวจภูมิศาสตร์กายภาพ และใช้เวลาเขียนแบบรูปหินต่างๆ ที่มีหลายรูปทรง นักเรียนได้การยกย่องตลอดการเดินทางด้วยกัน เพื่อเอาชนะความท้าทายในการปีนเขา นักเรียนยังได้ตรวจสอบและค้นพบวิชามนุษยศาสตร์และศิลปะในสัปดาห์นี้อีกด้วย
