Letter from the Chair
Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to present the December 2021 Pathology newsletter, with department updates and highlights from the last six months. I am very grateful to Adriana Callahan and Kali Korbis for their excellent work in assembling the newsletter. I congratulate all of you on your many accomplishments in the face of the constraints and challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A group of outstanding new faculty, trainees and staff that have joined us since July. We are now in the midst of very active recruiting efforts for our training programs and open faculty positions and I much appreciate the tremendous time and energy that make our recruiting so successful. There have been many impressive accomplishments already in the current academic year. Please join me in congratulating the faculty members who received this year’s leadership awards. Great progress is being made on a variety of initiatives, including our new faculty mentoring program, our efforts to increase diversity, medical school curriculum re-design, and expansion of our pipeline of doctoral students, among others. Our trajectory remains strong as we head into 2022!
With gratitude,
Peter E. Jensen, MD | ARUP Presidential Professor and Chair
