Innovate Capital Business Law Clinic now accepting new client applications for fall

Campbell Law’s Innovate Capital Business Law Clinic is looking for a few good entrepreneurs or start-ups to receive free legal services this fall. The clinic and its student attorneys strive to provide area businesses with specialized legal services needed to scale and grow. Clinic Director Benji Jones utilizes decades of experience working with start-ups to supervise up to eight third-year Campbell Law students. New Board of Visitors members, chair announced

Dean J. Rich Leonard has announced the addition of nine legal and industry leaders to the law school’s Board of Visitors as well as a new chair. The Honorable Pamela W. McAfee, The Honorable Andrew Heath, The Honorable Donna S. Stroud ’85, John M. Nunnally ’92, Destiney Parker-Thompson ’20, Terry M. Brown, Jr. ’15, Emily Moree ’14, Nicole L. Tharrington ’94 and Benjamin T. Cochran ’02 will all serve two-year terms on the board. John M. McCabe, a 1994 Campbell Law graduate, will serve as the board’s new chair. Learn more at this link.

Attorney At Law Magazine features Trial Advocacy Program

Attorney At Law Magazine has included Campbell Law's Trial Advocacy Program in its latest N.C. Triangle edition. Dan Tilly, associate dean of students and academic affairs (former director of advocacy from 2011-2020), has built a program rooted in hard work, sacrifice and commitment. These principles are those that have led to the maintained success over the past decade and are the very principles Tatiana Terry, Campbell’s first director of competitive advocacy, implements as the new leader of the program. Campbell Law students have been traveling this summer! One group of students is undertaking a comparative study of U.S., British and European Union law based out of historical Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge. Another group is partaking in the Campbell Law partnership with Baylor University Law's Academy of St. Andrews in Scotland. Dean Leonard had the opportunity to lecture as part of each program.

Campbell Law announces five new FLEX JD information sessions

Campbell Law has scheduled five in-person information sessions for its groundbreaking Campbell FLEX JD program, which allows students to earn a life-changing degree at their own pace. The sessions begin in August and run through May 2023. A premium option of study for area residents looking to pursue alternative career paths, the Campbell FLEX program enables entering law students to earn a Juris Doctor degree by taking fewer hours each semester than required by the traditional full-time program. Campbell Law 4th Annual Bike Ride to benefit student-led Pro Bono Council Projects

Campbell Law will host its Fourth Annual Fundraising Bike Ride on Saturday, Oct. 22. The ride, which is co-sponsored by TREK Bikes, Crabtree Mall, Raleigh Brewing Company, Raleigh Magazine, Attorney at Law Magazine and the Campbell Law Pro Bono Council, will once again offer a 10- to 12-mile family ride, a 40- to 50-mile ride and a virtual ride option. Externship Program continues to grow

Campbell Law's Externship Program is growing in influence as well as scope, according to Program Director Niya Fonville. Her mission is to foster a commitment to service within students no matter where their legal journey takes them. “This is a responsibility I do not take lightly, recognizing that we can accomplish more together than separately,” she explained.
