Being a Food Photographer

Magic happens when you listen to your inner voice. Growing up, I didn’t know what I wanted my career to be but I know I wanted to take pictures and I know I loved food. Luckily for me, I managed to get good teaching for photography and a big family that knows how to cook. Now I get to live the best of both worlds!

I started my food photography career a little over a year or two ago. There was no particular reason for me to make my decision but a day came when I said to myself “We are doing food photography now” and from that day since, it's been one heck of a ride! Through this job, people can witness my heritage as stories are told through art in more ways than one! I can try different recipes to push my perspective and see a whole new side to things that haven’t been experienced before and then turn that experience into something that can be shared with my audience. It's truly a remarkable experience!

One major aspect of food photography that I love is that it gives me the ability to truly connect with different cultures. Everybody can relate to sitting down and having a good meal. The best part about that is the diversity every culture has in its recipes. My belief is that food is one of the best ways to learn about another culture, after all

Being a part of a medium that can communicate how different foods are made and how different cultures serve amazing meals is such a blessing. My goal and dream are to be able to memorialize those experiences and share those meals, even if it's in picture form, with people who still have yet to experience them. If you know someone who is starting up a restaurant or a food truck, send them my way! It would be an honor to help a business grow and share those experiences with others!
