Our Mission Statement
We want to lead the path for education and implementation of practices that assist the social, economic, and environmental needs of a sustainable society.
We plan to do this through city exploration and by actively searching for ways to improve accessibilities for all sorts of people affected by the city. This includes development through built design such as city planning, down to more personal aspects of life like art, renewable personal resources, and cultivating home environments.
We look forward to communicating with companies and infrastructures open to changes that affect the environment of the city as well as smaller communities.
What We’ve Seen
Through our experiences within and outside of San Jose, and across the Santa Clara Valley, we've taken note of specific aspects of our built environment:
- The need for more nature within the city and suburbs of San Jose
- Lack of accessible and wildly known community resources
- A need of public interest from all demographics
- Maintaining of environmental integrity
What We’ve Learned Through HonorsX
- Understanding of art and literature in relation to sustainability
- Interaction with others through exploration of San Jose and its built environment
- The role plants and natural environments play in our day to day life, from the home, to society as a whole
- Cultivation and better understanding of our own experiences through group communication and projects
With the help of our community we hope to rectify these issues and turn what was once a weakness into a strength. Our goal to start with San Jose and onward into the rest of the valley.
This virtual walk through carries viewers through futuristic city planning that moves toward a better sustainable life.
What We Hope To See
- More architectural use of biophilia for interiors and exteriors
- Built in structures for shading
- Open areas of sanitation
- Many more areas for the public rest
Community Duty
We ask that as we work on this project from the higher end the community that makes up the city participates as well.
Start Small, Think Big
Start a garden.
