What a wonderful and festive week we’ve had in Year 1! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
✏️ Independent Writing
This week, some the children have been practising writing stories all by themselves. Using an image as inspiration, they came up with fantastic sentences and showed great creativity in their work. It’s amazing to see their confidence in writing grow!
❄️ A Wintery Visitor
Wednesday was a very special day as we welcomed a fantastic visitor, Chris Bostock. Chris captivated us all with his incredible storytelling, weaving magical wintery tales that left us inspired. It was a truly engaging experience and the children loved it!
⭐️ Star Lunch
Four children from our class were nominated this term by their teachers for demonstrating one of the St. John’s core values. As a reward, they enjoyed a very special lunch on Wednesday. How lucky are they?! Well done to our stars.
🎄 Elf Mischief
Our naughty classroom elf has been causing all sorts of trouble this week! From climbing on the windows, to eating some of our Dojo Friday chocolate, the children have had so much fun discovering the elf’s antics each morning. It’s certainly added a sprinkle of Christmas excitement to our days!
Well done Year 1 for a brilliant week! I hope the elf doesn’t get up to much mischief over the weekend…
