1. Announcing the new Head of the Global Shapers Community
We are extremely delighted to announce an important Global Shapers Community leadership transition! Natalie Pierce has been nominated as Head of the Global Shapers Community, starting next month.
After 4 years steering the Global Shapers Community with passion, heart and soul, Wadia looks forward to his new adventure as Head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders. We can't thank him enough for his work to strengthen and grow our community to more than 14,000 members in 500 cities. We wish Wadia luck in bringing that same drive to the YGLs and cultivating connections between our two communities.
Natalie has contributed her voice and guiding light to Global Shapers for 6 years. As a skilled ambassador for the Forum, her leadership journey is an inspiration for women across the community! She and Wadia have been a dynamic team for years, and we now look forward to supporting Natalie in her new role.
2. Welcoming new hubs
This was a huge period for growth. The hub incubator expanded our community by more than 30 hubs! We're deeply impressed by the founders and delighted to support young people in new cities worldwide.

3. Curatorship Curriculum
Register for the next Curatorship Curriculum session on 10 June at 15:00 CEST! Join Global Shapers HQ and members of the Advisory Council to explore best practices of your peers on cultivating and nurturing hub resilience and wellbeing. Add also a special 28 June session to reflect on and celebrate your Curatorship in your time zone (offered morning and night to accommodate all time zones).
4. Nominate your Impact Officer
Curators, nominate your hub's Impact Officer before 31 May 2022! All hubs opened before 1 July 2021 should have an Impact Officer for the 1 July 2022 - 30 June 2023 term. Hubs that reported their new Impact Officer when submitting Curatorship election results should submit again to confirm the results.
Outgoing and Incoming Impact Officers should register to attend a curriculum session on Securing a Strong Impact Legacy, taking place Wednesday 15 June at 15:00 CEST.
5. Impact Council
Our Impact Council is hard at work to make your best practices readily available to all community members. Check out the repository. Submit your own insights to Karen Saez for them to be included!
The Impact Council has an open-door policy and hopes that you reach out with all questions related to impact, impact measurement or project planning. Explore the Impact Council Connect space to ask your questions and contact council members!
World Economic Forum Events
6. Organize a Davos Watch Party!
The Forum's Annual Meeting will take place 22 - 26 May under the theme History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies. 50 Global Shapers will join us in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland next month to represent their hubs and uplift the perspectives of young people!
We call on Global Shapers to get involved! Host a Davos Watch Party in your city featuring a session at the Annual Meeting and discussion. To host a watch party, complete this quick form. Use the official hashtag #WEF22 and tag us at @wef and @GlobalShapers to share your insights on social media.
There are two sessions on the Global Shapers Community's official agenda:

Impact Opportunities
7. Combating the Climate Emergency
The Global Shapers Community and Climate Reality Project Europe invite Shapers worldwide to encourage local authorities - from municipalities to universities, religious groups, associations, companies and beyond - to declare a 'climate emergency'. Join us on 16 June at 15:00 CEST to learn how!
Together, we will:
- Learn about the Climate Reality Project Europe
- Download a short, scientific and factual overview of the state of climate change
- Review the concept of a 'climate emergency declaration'
- Understand the the Climate Emergency Communities guidelines
- Be inspired by Climate Reality Leaders stories and case studies

8. Addressing Sri Lanka's medical crisis
Global Shapers in Colombo Hub hosted an Instagram Live session on Sri Lanka's medical crisis. The hub spoke with the CEO of Watchdog about their platform Elixir and how it enables the international community to support.
