Recreational Athletics Provides Platform for Health and Wellness
Campus Recreation was in full swing during the past year, providing a platform to promote healthy, active lifestyles to the Drexel community. Overall, students, faculty, staff and community members accessed the Recreation Center over 400,000 times, including 34,765 swipes into Group Exercise, Small Group Training and Personal Training programs.
In addition, over 1,000 Club Sport student-athletes participated across 33 club sport teams and over 2,000 students competed as members of 241 teams in 14 different intramural sports.
Fresh Check Day Promotes Mental Health on Campus
More than 400 individuals took part in Campus Recreation's Annual Fresh Check Day - a one-day mental health fair that includes peer-run interactive booths, free food, music, prizes and giveaways. Fresh Check Day is conducted in partnership with the Drexel Counseling Center, Student Life, and many student organizations.
Employee Olympics Returns
Campus Recreation welcomed the return of the annual Employee Olympics, a one-day event that targets benefits-eligible university employees and allows them to compete head-to-head with their colleagues in various sports. This year Employee Olympics saw over 400 participants across two events.
