Athletics Raises Record Support During 24 Hours of Impact

Drexel Athletics led the way and set new records for overall donations and dollars raised during 24 Hours of Impact the University's annual Day of Giving on May 4. Close to 4,000 gifts were made and over $472,000 was contributed, nearly double the previous record, to ensure the success of Dragons' student-athletes and enhance their experience on campus. Collectively, athletics accounted for over 66 percent of the donations on the day, including taking home the top four spots and finishing with eight of the top 10 campus organizations in overall gifts.

Daskalakis Athletic Center Undergoes State-of-the-Art Transformation

The Daskalakis Athletic Center will unveil a state-of-the-art video board, along with other technology enhancements, as the arena undergoes a dramatic transformation for the 2022-23 season. Scheduled for completion for the start of the winter sports season, the project includes the installation of a Daktronics center court LED video board, a custom indoor sound system, various smaller LED video boards, LED lighting and a fully upgraded video production studio.

"The upgrades are a marker of progress and a statement of support from the University," said Drexel Director of Athletics Maisha Kelly. "This will present an opportunity to showcase the talent that competes in the arena, as well as allow us to engage our fan base in ways we have not been able to do in the past."

Endowment Fund Established to Benefit Drexel Golf

Drexel Golf received a boost with the establishment of the Drexel Golf Endowment Fund, which serves to secure the long-term success and sustainability of the program. The endowment was created thanks to the generosity and leadership support of former player Matt Hilbush '97 and his wife Theresa '96.

Vidas Tennis Courts Dedicated

The Tennis program cut the ribbon and recognized the generous supporters who named courts at the Vidas Athletic Complex during a formal dedication ceremony in the fall.

Alumni, Parents, Fans and Friends Return to Campus

Events and formal in-person engagement activities began to resume during 2021-22, as former student-athletes, parents, fans and friends returned to campus to connect with teammates and friends and to support the Dragons.
